Absolute Beginner Tap Dance

Adults and Teens Ages 16+

Mondays, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.

This absolute beginner tap class is for anyone who has never taken a tap class or would like to start again from the very beginning and move at a slower pace.  This is a progressive class, and Part 1 will start from the very beginning.  Part 2 will be a continuation of Part 1 and will work on combining the steps learned in Part 1.  All ages of adults are welcome, as well as mature teens.

  • Session:
    • Part 1:  4 weeks (January 24 – February 14, 2022)
    • Part 2:  4 weeks (February 21 – March 14, 2022)
  • Cost: $52/single session. $100/both sessions
  • Class Size: 4 students required to run class; no more than 12 students enrolled

About the Instructor: Alissa Stachowski
Alissa Stachowski grew up in Alliance, Ohio, where she studied and performed in a variety of art forms including dance, acrobatics, music, and theater.  At the University of Akron, she earned a BA in Dance, focused mainly in ballet and modern dance.  She continued studying many dance forms at Contemporary Dance Theater in Cincinnati, including Modern, Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz, Afro-Caribbean/Dunham and Tap.  Recent dance performances in Cincinnati through Contemporary Dance Theater include Area Choreographers Festival and Performance and Time Arts shows with various choreographers.  Outdoor performances include Global Water Dances-Cincinnati (2013, 2015, and 2021), Great Outdoor Weekend (2021), Ohio Statehouse Performing Arts Series (2016), and Bodies in Urban Spaces (2014) in conjunction with Cincinnati’s Contemporary Arts Center.  She currently specializes in teaching adults and teens dance classes in tap, modern, and ballet, and also enjoys Tango, Swing Dance, Parkour and dancing outdoors.
