About the Artist: Destiny L

Destiny L. is a neo-soul and alternative R&B artist based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her style leans into a new wave of R&B influenced by a variety of genres, from psychedelic music and soul to jazz and contemporary hip-hop. Speaking of her creative evolution as an artist, Destiny L. is all about authenticity: “I’ve learned that being real, being transparent, and exuding the very confidence I walk with is how I can find my true audience. I feel fulfilled by my power to heal through my art.”

Having opened for huge artists like Bobby V and Warren G, the fearless Afro Queen is reclaiming her solo power and gifting the world with her art. Creating music that, in her words, makes people ‘catch feels’, Destiny L.’s new single ‘SpacexTime’ from upcoming EP ‘Feels’ is a sensual slow jam that showcases her soulful vocals and sultry husk.

With rich, hypnotic vocals and a profound consciousness in her lyrics, Destiny L.’s dreamy trip-hop flavor defies genre. Inspired by fellow soul artists like Musiq Soulchild, Jill Scott, Etta James, Erykah Badu, Brandy, and Robert Glasper, Destiny L.’s music feels timeless and deeply mystical, with an old-soul maturity that magnetizes and transports listeners.

This performance is made possible through support from the Greater Cincinnati Foundation and by American Rescue Plan funds from the City of Cincinnati, administered through ArtsWave.
