Summer Creative Arts Camp
Ages 8+
June 27 – July 1, 10:00am – 5:00pm
Spend a creative summer week at CCAC! Whether you’re looking for a few hours of daily arts fun or a full day of activities, Summer Creative Arts Camp is for you. Choose to sign your camper up for one or two of the week-long classes, or register for all three to create a day-long summer camp experience for your child. This year’s class/camp offerings include:
- Hoop Yourself Happy & Healthy: 10:00am – 12:00pm
During this class, we will be using hula hoops that you get to keep and learning over 25 amazing hoop tricks. We will exercise our way through Miss Kellee’s super-hip, full-body, hula hooping workout. We will also be playing hoop games. Hoop Yourself Healthy & Happy is an introduction to basic hooping and hoop dance and can be differentiated for hoopers of multiple skill levels. Be sure to wear gym clothes and gym shoes and bring a water bottle. Girls, please put your hair up. Super Hooping Performance for family and friends on Friday at 11:30am. - On Stage: Theatre & Improv: 1:00 – 3:00pm
Theater skills enhance children’s self-esteem, make it easier to step into new situations, and improve problem-solving, listening, and public speaking abilities – all while having a great time! Students will participate in theater games and skill building activities, improvisation, and creative drama. Performance for family and friends on Friday at 2:15pm. - Rock Star Writers: 3:00 – 5:00pm
Keep a Writer’s Notebook, try your hand at different genre, and experience the “Most Wonderful Writing Lessons Ever!” Learning the tricks of the trade from professional writers, create a personal narrative that rocks your socks off. You will look more closely at the world and express yourself as a word artist. Everyone has a story to tell: what’s yours? We’ll share our masterpieces with family and friends on Friday at 4:15pm at the Tea & Crumpets Author Celebration.

Class Size: 6 – 12 students
About the Instructor Terri Burch
Terri Burch has been educating children and directing student plays for nearly 20 years. Her Bachelor’s degrees are in Elementary Education and Literature, with a Masters in Gifted Education. She specializes in elementary and middle school Shakespeare plays, and has directed four full-fledged high school Shakespeare plays. In addition to the works of William Shakespeare, Terri is also passionate about teaching, learning, writing, hula hooping, art, music, and tree-hugging. She is inspired daily by the beauty, love, and power humans bring to the world, both on and off the stage.

Scholarship Program: CCAC’s scholarship program was designed to give all children the opportunity to take classes at CCAC. Scholarships are offered quarterly, with application deadlines falling one week prior to the start of each class quarter.
