Tuning In: An Introduction to the Chakras and the More Subtle Energy Body

Ages 16 – 110

Saturday, 9:00am – 1:00pm

A Workshop on Yoga, Movement, Breathing, Meditation, and Self-Study

During these few past decades, and especially these past few years, there has been an increased interest in learning more about non-medicated-oriented energy and healing modalities, yoga, meditation, and breathing practices that contribute positively to daily life. Yoga asana (postures), meditation, and intentional breathing practices assist us in experiencing the world in ways that bring more peace and calm into our daily life. One way to tune into the body’s inner wisdom, balance, and to enhance greater self-love is to hone in on a focused study of the ancient knowledge associated with the Chakras, or energy centers in the body. There are 7 primary energy centers in the body. During this 4-hour workshop, students will experience an introduction to these 7 chakras and explore in an experiential way yoga asana (postures) and meditations that heighten awareness and connection to the self’s more subtle energy body. Students will explore relationships between the chakras and human anatomy and to individual decision-making processes in order to enhance one’s daily state of being as it associated with a deeper connection with the inner-self, with others, and with the world around them. This workshop merges yoga, movement, and meditation techniques, with informative talks, and snacks provided throughout the day, that will leave the student with a new-found understanding of the chakras and how to tune in on their own to these energy centers in the body. All interested individuals from all of the diversity of backgrounds are encouraged to sign up to learn about and explore the Chakras.
