Introduction to Ukulele

Introduction to Ukulele provides a series of individual and group learning-through-collaboration experiences in basic technique and songs for ukulele.

  • Ages: All Ages (5+ through adult)
  • Cost: $20 per session. Scholarships available
  • Length of Lesson: 30 minutes
  • Class Size: 1 – 4 students
  • More Information: If you don’t currently own a ukulele, we can recommend an affordable instrument at a discount through one of our community partners.

About the Instructor: Manuel Maria Susarret, M.Ed.

Manuel Susarret is a semi-retired Montessori teacher and guitarist, currently teaching guitar and ukulele with CCAC and Children’s Meeting House Montessori School.

Born and raised in 1950s New York’s Spanish Harlem, immersed in traditional Puerto Rican music, classical music, Doo-Wop songs and church choir, Manuel has been teaching and learning music all his life. Since the 1990s he has studied with the classical guitar faculty at the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music (CCM). He currently sings (baritone) with the World House Choir in Yellow Springs, Ohio.
