As a Master Class participant, each student has the opportunity to present a piece and learn from our instructor’s expert coaching and advice. Remember to tune your guitar and warm up beforehand, and to attend the Master Class in a well-lit space (light source in front or to the side, not behind you) with a straight-back, armless chair and a music stand (or a second chair) for your music, as well as a WiFi-connected device.

  • Cost: Free; suggested donation $20
  • What to bring to master class: 
    • Your guitar (please tune and warm-up beforehand).
    • A classical guitar piece you are currently working on.
    • Detailed questions for the instructor.
    • Your open, “beginner mind”.

About the Instructor: Jorge Alberto Zilio

Brazilian Guitarist Jorge Alberto Zilio is an artist with highly authentic credentials. Born and raised in Porto Alegre – Brazil, Jorge studied and performed guitar and brazilian percussion, eventually focusing on Bossa Nova style and the traditional Brazilian rhythms. He is a veteran of the highly popular Bossa scene and also has performed with Latin/Salsa musicians all over Brazil. Recently, Maestro Zilio has performed some tunes of the most important composers like Tom Jobim,Vinicius de Moraes,Luis Bonfa, Joyce Moreno, and others  with Cincinnati-based Estrada do Sol.
