Ages 8-12

Tuesdays, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.

In a combination of graphic design and legal graffiti, students will first sketch out an “identity symbol” that they can simplify. Next they will create a small-scale (8 1/2″ x 11″) version of the stencil and cut it out with scissors to test the aesthetic and trouble-shoot. Finally, they will craft larger-scale versions of their stencils, cut them out of cardboard, and utilize spray paint to tag the front of a notebook, a water bottle, any other surface that parents deem acceptable! We will finish the last class by collaborating on a group mural that incorporates each student’s symbol into a pattern or greater composition. Registration extended!  Sign up by February 25, 2022 required.
