Clifton Cultural Arts Center (CCAC), in partnership with the Short Vine Association, presents Shine on Short Vine, a curated exhibition of outdoor public light art installations in the Short Vine entertainment district. The month-long exhibition will take place from November 6 – 30, 2020, with works lit from 5 – 10pm nightly. In addition to the installations, CCAC will program four evenings of events based around the installations.
In addition to CCAC, a project steering committee has been selected to review and approve the artwork for the project. They are made up of individuals that represent neighborhood stakeholder organizations and resident groups.
Between 9 – 18 awards will be granted by CCAC and the Committee.
Projects and installations will be placed throughout the Short Vine Entertainment District. Sidewalks, vacant storefronts, and overhead streetlights/archways will also be considered. See appendix for site photos.
Artists must be ages 18+ to apply. All submitted concept proposals must be the artist’s own work.

Your proposal should include a budget breakdown that is within $250 – $5,000 as a total project budget to complete your concept. Total budget should include artist fees, materials and supplies, fabrication, installation, maintenance/upkeep, and insurance.
Between 9 – 18 awards will be granted by CCAC and the Committee. While CCAC will be funding proposals from each category, the majority of projects will be funded at the Small Installation level.
Artist(s) are encouraged to have a sustainability plan for their installation at the conclusion of the exhibition.
By submitting this proposal, the artist(s) confirm that their concept does not impede egress in the Short Vine Business District. Artist(s) also understand that Shine on Short Vine is an outdoor exhibition, and that they are responsible for maintaining their installation throughout the duration of the exhibition.
Complete the online Artist Information and Application Form in full. Multiple concepts by one artist/artist group will be accepted, but each concept must be submitted separately. Failure to complete all required fields will result in disqualification from the opportunity.
