Organization Background:

The Clifton Cultural Arts Center (CCAC) is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to strengthening the critical link between participation in the cultural arts and successful, healthy children, adults and communities. In 2024, CCAC opened the first purpose-built community arts center in the City of Cincinnati – an 18,000 sq. ft. building that includes galleries, classrooms, auditorium, and green roof event/program space, located in the eclectic Clifton neighborhood business district.

 

Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced part-time facilities manager/handyperson to help us keep our facilities in good order. This individual is responsible for maintaining an attractive and safe facility for students, staff, and the public. The facilities manager will perform routine maintenance duties of the interior and exterior of the building and coordinate, when necessary, with other contractors and tradespeople to perform work at CCAC.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform maintenance tasks such as changing lightbulbs, plumbing, painting, light carpentry.
  • Safely operate equipment and hand tools.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to successfully get the job done.
  • High expectations of performance.
  • Flexible to changing priorities and conditions.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks (lift up to 50 pounds).
  • 1-4 years of construction, facilities management or handyman work experience preferred.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary point person for outside facilities and maintenance vendors
  • Perform a full scope of custodial and general maintenance duties.
  • Patch and paint gallery walls between art exhibitions (8-10 shows per year)
  • Maintain outdoor area and keep clear of debris by cleaning and conducting related activities such as trash pickup, weed removal, snow or debris clearance from sidewalks and stairs in areas within sixteen feet of building.
  • Inspects CCAC facility to ensure that the building is suitable for safe operations, maintained in an attractive and clean condition, and identify necessary repairs due to vandalism, equipment breakage, weather conditions, etc.
  • Repairs basic facilities and equipment (e.g. ballasts, plumbing, furniture, fixtures, filters, etc.) ensuring that items are available and in safe working condition.
  • Responds to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (e.g. facility damage, alarms, etc.).
  • Assist with inventory control and security
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and have a flexible schedule.

Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Must have reliable form of transportation.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand and walk; to reach with hands and arms and talk and listen. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Compensation: This position is part-time, hourly (estimated 8-16 hours/week). Hourly rate of pay is $18.00 – $20.00/hr., commensurate with experience.

Schedule: Hours of day and days of week for this position are flexible, but must not interfere with the operations of the Clifton Cultural Arts Center.

Title: Summer Camp Teen Volunteer
Reports to: Assistant Program Manager
Dates: Weekdays May 27 – August 8, 2025 (no camp the week of June 30 – July 4 or on June 19, 2025)

Overview: Clifton Cultural Arts Center (CCAC) seeks multiple Teen Volunteers for our 2025 Summer Camp program. Teen Volunteers will assist Summer Camp Lead Teachers in the classroom by helping prepare supplies, providing one-on-one instruction to summer campers, and cleaning up supplies and classrooms. This position will regularly interact with Summer Camp Lead Teachers, CCAC Staff, camper parents and campers ages 3 – 5 / Grades K – 6.

Camps run in week-long increments from May 27 – August 8, 2025 (no camp the week of June 30 – August 8 or on June 19, 2025). Teen Volunteers will be scheduled in 3.5 hour shifts in either the mornings or afternoons for one week, up to 10 camp weeks. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance with room setup and cleanup.
  • Prepare art supplies for daily lessons.
  • Aide Summer Camp Lead Teachers during lessons.
  • Work one-on-one with campers during camp activities as needed.

 Requirements:

  • Must be 13 – 17 years old.
  • Ability to follow direction and maintain composure.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Ability to interact and build relationships with people of diverse backgrounds, personalities and working styles.
  • Experience working with children, particularly in a large group setting, preferred but not required.
  • Ability to stand or sit for one hour or more.
