Volunteer Opportunities

Looking for a way to get involved? CCAC needs your help to keep the facilities and grounds looking beautiful and our programs and events running smoothly.  If you’d like to volunteer, please email us with your name, phone number, and the areas you’re interested in getting involved with!

Gallery Docent

Docents promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of the work displayed in CCAC gallery exhibitions.  A great docent will enjoy sharing background information on the artist, media, or inspiration of the work, facilitating conversation or activities that ensure all CCAC Gallery visitors have an amazing experience.

If you are interested in volunteering as a docent, email CCAC’s Gallery Coordinator at emily.versoza@cliftonculturalarts.org.

Marketing Distributor*

CCAC needs your support getting the word out about all the free and low-cost classes, exhibits, and events that we have going on. Marketing Volunteers dedicate a few hours a month to distribute a small stack of posters, postcards, or semester catalogs to a list of businesses that we provide.

If you are interested in volunteering as a marketing distributor, email CCAC’s Marketing Manager at jl.muething@cliftonculturalarts.org.

*A means of transportation is not required, but will definitely make the job easier.

Pro Bono Teaching Artist and Teaching Assistants

CCAC is home to dozens of cultural classes each semester in a variety of mediums including visual arts, dance, creative writing, music, performance, and more. We strive to keep tuition rates as low as possible, so that everyone can come together through shared experiences, and you can help by volunteering your time with us. Successful teachers develop their own curriculum to provide classes that are engaging and highly interactive while being reliable, detail-oriented, and upbeat team players.

A great assistant will have the same qualities, but provides an extra set of hands to the head teacher instead of developing their own class plans.

If you are interested in volunteering as a teaching artist or assistant, please email CCAC Programs Manager, Emalene Benson at emalene.benson@cliftonculturalarts.org.

Volunteer Leadership

Clifton Cultural Arts Center thrives because of the community input we receive in every aspect of our operations. We depend on committees to provide ideas and oversight for our work. Some of CCAC’s committees are:

Development Committee

The primary function of this committee is to assist staff in developing and executing a strategic plan for raising the contributed funds that allow CCAC to continue providing arts opportunities for free or at low-cost to everyone in our community. Members should be comfortable cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors. This committee meets in-person quarterly.

Finance Committee

This committee’s main function is to review all financial matters for Clifton Cultural Arts Center including budgets, investments, and capital expenditures, and make recommendations back to the Board. This committee meets in-person monthly.

Governance Committee

This committee’s job is to steer the board in its development of strategic plans, while evaluating the Board’s effectiveness and vetting future Board candidates.

Marketing & Communications Committee

The primary function of this committee is to assist staff in developing and executing a strategic plan for increasing awareness and attendance of CCAC’s events, exhibits, and educational programming. The committee also works to meet financial goals from private event rentals, tuition, and other earned revenue streams. This committee meets in-person quarterly.

Programs Committee

The Programs Committee is tasked with evaluating all the events and educational programs that CCAC offers, focusing on best meeting CCAC’s mission, vision, and strategic plan while ensuring that we remain an inclusive and accessible home for all.

Ad Hoc Committees

CCAC also has a few committees overseeing specific events or fundraisers. Each committee varies on how often they meet, and some are strictly run through email communication. A few examples are:

  • Gala Host Committee
  • “The Golden Ticket” Committee
  • Street-by-Street Captains

If you are interested and believe you can provide meaningful insights to one of these committees, please send an email with a resume and cover letter to CCAC Executive Director, Leslie Mooney, at leslie.mooney@cliftonculturalarts.org.
