Mother’s Day, May 10

10:00 am – 4:30 pm | Clifton Gaslight District

Join us on Mother’s Day, May 10, for one of Clifton’s most beloved traditions—the Clifton Home & Garden Tour, an bi-annual celebration of architecture, history, design, and the homes that shape our community. Advanced tickets are on sale now for $30! (Day-of tickets are $35.)

For many years, the Clifton Home & Garden Tour has invited guests to explore the unique homes throughout the historic Clifton neighborhood, offering a rare look inside and a deeper understanding of the neighborhood’s rich architecture and cultural history. This year’s tour runs from 10:00am–4:30pm and showcases the charm, creativity, and stories behind Clifton’s homes and gardens.

Volunteer

We’re looking for friendly, community-minded volunteers to help make this year’s Clifton Home & Garden Tour a success! In appreciation of your time, volunteers will receive a complimentary ticket to the Clifton Home & Garden Tour, which may be used before or after your scheduled shift. We need volunteer’s for two 3.5 hour shifts helping with the following responsibilities and roles:

  • Greeting guests as they enter and exit tour homes
  • Assisting with the flow of visitors through each house
  • Providing basic context about the home and offering hospitality
  • Helping guests with directions and navigating between tour locations
  • Ticket sales and guest assistance at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center (CCAC)
  • Transportation and shuttle support to assist guests traveling between tour locations

Questions?

Start your tour by parking at the Cincinnati State Ludlow Ave Parking Garage, where a shuttle bus will take you to the Clifton Cultural Arts Center (CCAC) for check-in. At CCAC, you’ll receive your program, which serves as your ticket. Registration is open until 2:30 PM, and the tour runs until 4:30 PM. Because homes are spread out, complimentary sprinter vans run continuously between stops—we strongly recommend using these shuttles to reduce traffic and avoid parking challenges.

Walking is certainly permitted and encouraged! The locations are spread throughout Gaslight Clifton, so wear comfortable shoes if you plan to walk!

Driving your own vehicle is discouraged as parking on many residential streets is quite limited. Please either walk or use the shuttle service provided with the purchase of your ticket.

DO NOT PARK IN THE CCAC/DEWEY’S PIZZA PARKING LOT ON HOSEA AVE.

Sunday morning parking in this lot is reserved for Clifton United Methodist Church.

The tour is self-guided with the aid of brief descriptions of each location in the program. The shuttle bus will take groups in a set order, but you can linger and catch the next shuttle or walk yourself to the next location if you prefer. Volunteers will be present at each stop to guide you through the proper flow of the space.

The amount of time you spend at each home is up to you, and you by no means must go to every single stop if you don’t desire to. To complete the full circuit of all 9 stops it will take an estimated 3-4 hours

We ask that you utilize the bathroom facilities at CCAC and refrain from using the facilities of the tour homes. Refreshments will be offered at the beginning of your tour at CCAC. You are welcome to return here for more refreshments and to use the facilities at any time throughout the tour.

A booklet including a map and home information will be provided upon checkin at CCAC

Many of the homes on the tour are historic properties and are not fully accessible. Several homes include stairs, uneven walkways, or other features that may be challenging for those with limited mobility.

Some locations are single-floor once inside, but may still require a few steps to enter from the street or driveway.

We encourage guests with mobility concerns to keep this in mind when planning their visit. If you have specific questions about accessibility, please feel free to reach out for more details.
