Gentle Foundational Yoga

Ages 14+

Class offered both virtually and in-person
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:45 – 11:45am

This class is designed for the individuals who would like to begin or continue to explore yoga, breathing, and meditation. During this 5-week offering, students will meet 2 times per week to move the body through ancient yoga postures and shapes while also exploring a diversity of breathing and meditation practices. Students are invited to iteratively develop their own authentic practice with a gentle beginner’s mind. The idea behind meeting 2 times per week is to allow the student the opportunity to shift toward an incorporation of yoga, breathwork, and meditation into their daily lives on and off of the mat. This course will best serve students who are beginners or intermediate students of yoga, breathwork, and meditation or those more advanced students who would like a review of the foundations of yoga.

The intentional gentle foundational yoga practice provides a space for students to take an intentional approach to yoga, movement, breathing, and meditation in order to tune into their own anatomical alignment of the body, the calming of the mind, and a renewed connection with the spirit. This style of practice assists students in cultivating a more deeply focused attention on the engagement, activation, and functional movements of the body, a focused attention of the mind, and encourages gentle and intentional relaxation practices. All bodies in all of their diversity are invited and welcome to join in this series.
