International Folk Dancing
Thursdays, 5:30 – 7:30pm
A group of friendly folks who dance for fun. Most dances are circle and line dances. No partners or costumes are needed. Although we do kick up our heels sometimes, many dances are easy. This is dancing for non-dancers. We dance traditional folk dances from all over the world. A majority of the dances we know are from the Balkan and Middle East regions. New dancers are encouraged to come early as some of the dances will be taught for them. After 6:30pm most dances are done without teaching but all are still encouraged to join in. Children are welcome with an adult if they come to dance. There is no place for the children to play. The exotic, recorded music is very unusual and half the fun.

About the Instructors:
Many folks have been dancing for decades and it could be Edith, Oliver, Doug or Wilson who teaches any individual dance. Dances have been collected from workshops and dancing with groups all over the country. We are open, friendly and democratic, and most are willing to step up and keep the group going.
