Hannah Gedeon, Sidewinder Coffee
Hannah grew up in Bowling Green, Ohio. At age 16 she started working at Grounds for Thought, a local, independent coffee shop and roastery where she was the manager and art show curator.

She started at Sidewinder Coffee in 2012 and was quickly promoted to shop manager. Over her 12 years working at Sidewinder, her role grew to more than just a standard manager and helped expand the business to include the roastery.

For the past 8 years, she has been the Master Roaster for Sidewinder. She not only roasts the coffee for the shop but also for wholesale clients at various other establishments.  In this position she has had the privilege to visit coffee farms in Colombia to further relationships with farmers and continue her education in the industry.

After almost 20 years in the industry, she’s proud to say that she is the new owner of Sidewinder Coffee.

Austin Ferrari and Colin Shepherd, Mom ‘n ’em Coffee
In 2015, brothers Tony and Austin Ferrari (known around town as The Ferrari Brothers) came up with this idea to give something back to their mother while they were living & working in San Francisco, and starving to move back to their hometown Cincinnati, Ohio.

The original idea for Mom ‘n ‘em Coffee was an airstream coffee bar, but due to city restrictions, they were unable to do such, so they decided to put it in an old house they purchased on the corner of Colerain and Bates Avenue in Camp Washington. Since the airstream idea took around 3 years to get off the ground, and still got denied by the city, the house was the last option.

The name “Mom ‘n ‘em” comes from the radio station 700 WLW, where their father use to listen almost every other day. One of the broadcasters would ask the other “Hey, how is your mom ‘n ‘em doing?”

Eventually the saying started flowing through the family and so it became a reality at the coffee shop. Mom ‘n ‘em is dedicated to Theresa Ferrari, Tony and Austin’s mother.

She worked hard raising her children and they never grew up with much. Tony and Austin just wanted to give back to their mother with something fun around a community of people, while helping build up an untouched unique neighborhood. Mom ‘n ‘em Coffee roasts all their coffee in house, and now has two locations in Cincinnati. At each shop you’ll find pastries, breakfast items, coffee, tea, tinned fishes, retail wine and a few other alcoholic beverages.

Alejandra Flores, Unataza Coffee
Alejandra was born and raised in Honduras, and in 2010, moved to the United States. Ever since, she has flown back to visit her family at least once a year. Her friends accompanied her occasionally, which led Alejandra to discover that she finds great enjoyment in planning their trip and and overall experience while in her country. Alejandra would take them to different attractions and introduce them to all those aspects that make Honduras great and unique. Immediately, they fell in love with the beautiful landscapes, culture, and people Honduras has to offer.

For almost 2 years, Alejandra has been looking for a way to bring together the two places that are the closest to her heart. In 2015, she began to notice how the people of NKY and Cincinnati had developed a passion for specialty coffee. At the same time, she realized that Honduras is starting to be recognized as one of the countries that produces coffee of the best quality and taste.

Finally, it clicked, and Unataza was born. Alejandra’s mission is to bring more people from the NKY and Cincinnati area to visit the coffee plantations in Honduras and bring specialty coffee from Honduras to Cincinnati.
