Clifton Cultural Arts Center returns with our eighteenth season of Wednesdays in the Woods, a free summer concert series celebrating everything great about summer. Join us at the Burnet Woods bandstand each week for music, food, drink, art, and community!
Wednesday, August 12 is Disability Visibility Night, with a focus on celebrating disabled voices, promoting accessibility, and connecting people to supportive community resources. The night features live performances by The Screamers and The Seasons, two advanced bands from the local nonprofit Ken Anderson Alliance, which empowers adults with disabilities to thrive in the community.
In addition to these musical performances, we’re engaging organizations whose work aligns with disability advocacy and community support. Booths present at the event include Stepping Stones, Visionaries & Voices, Independent Alliances, and more. Come out to find opportunities for involvement, organizations with accessible arts & music programing, and a fun night of live performances.
This week’s food vendors: Kabobske, Beverly Ann’s Cookies
This week at the Kids Art Corner: TBA
Ken Anderson Alliance is a Cincinnati nonprofit that provides music therapy, day programs, work programs and evening programs to empower adults with disabilities to thrive in the community. Through their advanced band programming, Ken Anderson Alliance connects musicians with disabilities to other artists and performance opportunities. The Screamers are a Cincinnati–based cover band that brings charismatic vocals and driving rhythms to the forefront of their performances. Playing top rock hits from the 70s and 80s all the way to today, The Screamers bring a fresh take and energy to every show. People of all ages and abilities are welcome at any Screamers performance! The Seasons are a cover band that is not defined by genre or style of music they play, but by the environment of openness and joy that they create. This five-piece group from Cincinnati enjoys performing songs that span across genres and decades. Playing hits from Stevie Wonder to Green Day, Radiohead to Billy Joel, Evanescence to Lady Gaga, The Seasons want to create an experience that brings people from all walks of life together!
In addition to the circle around the bandstand, several roads in and around Burnet Woods offer on-street parking. Look through the map below to find new areas to park if you want to avoid the traffic!
PLEASE NOTE: We ask that you do not park in CCAC/Dewey’s shared parking lot off Hosea Ave, as this is reserved for Dewey’s patrons and events taking place within CCAC’s new home.
In the event of inclement weather, the concert will move to the McKillip Theater at CCAC’s new home (3412 Clifton Ave), one block north of Burnet Woods. CCAC staff monitor the weather closely throughout the day of the concert and make a final decision in the afternoon (typically around 4 pm). If the concert must move indoors, we will share that information on this page, on our socials, and with our email list.
