HAIRitage

Erin Smith Glenn

INAUGURAL EXHIBIT IN CCAC’S NOURSE GALLERY

Erin Smith Glenn, winner of the inaugural New Woman juried exhibition and accompanying residency at CCAC, presents HAIRitage, a captivating body of work that celebrates Black hair culture and explores the profound ways in which hair is revered and transformed. Drawing inspiration from her personal journey and the evolving societal views on Black hair, Glenn showcases a deep engagement with the visual and emotional aspects of her subject matter. Going beyond aesthetics, HAIRitage responds to microaggressions, misinterpretations, and diverse perspectives on hair while demonstrating Glenn’s mastery of her mixed media practice.

(Join us for a special wellness class, “Movement & Meditation: Yoga in the Gallery” offered in collaboration with World Peace Yoga and timed to coincide with this exhibit.)
