The Art of Tatreez Embroidery Series
Tues, Oct 6 - 27 | 6:30 - 8:30 pm | Join us for this four-week class series at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center for an introduction to Palestinian culture and embroidery. Tatreez, the Arabic word for “embroidery” refers to the Palestinian cross-stitch embroidery practice which dates back thousands of years. This class series will include an introduction of the history of Palestinian embroidery and its importance in storytelling, community, and resistance. Participants will learn the basics of tatreez and begin their own pieces while exploring storytelling, grieving, and healing through the practice of tatreez. All skill levels are welcome!
